Maui weddings are romantic. They stand head and shoulders above your typical wedding experience. But even on Maui, some experiences are more romantic than others.

In April of this year, Maui Me coordinated a horse and carriage Maui wedding for a fun couple. The romantic carriage ride took place at the Renaissance Resort Wailea. The carriage and the horse are quartered in West Maui, so we had to have them ferried down to South Maui for this unique event. The Renaissance Resort told us that they had never had the horse and carriage before this wedding.

The bride was picked up and taken on a short ride in the carriage; then the groom joined her and they both spent some romantic moments together in the carriage listening to the heavy clumping of the stately horse as he wisked them into their new life together.

John shout the photography while our videographer caught all of the action for this unique event, before the couple took a photographic tour through the Resort while they had their photos taken, like models, through the Renaissance Hotel. The wedding took place on the grounds of the resort, followed by sunset photography on the beach.

I should caution you, if this looks like something you would like to do before your wedding, that the services of this horse and carriage are for the “discriminating” couple. (That means, of course, that the service doesn’t come cheap).

This particular wedding was a May/September type of relationship. The bride, who was from Europe, was hired by the groom to be his nanny for his son. She performed excellent service, and it didn’t take long for love to find its way into the house.
