Maui Wedding Location: Ma’alaea Wedding Site Returns
We were pleased to discover that one of the Maui wedding locations we’ve used in the past (which had disappeared from our list for well over a year), is now back.
Kailani House is found in the Ma’alaea Bay area, overlooking the water. As you can see by the photographs, the site is right on the ocean. There is a grassy lawn outside between the building and the ocean for outside weddings.
There is also a large room (see below), which has a nice bar in it for serving, that can back up the outside Maui wedding location, in case of rain. Receptions can also be put in this area, or dancing, depending upon the group. The building has nice facilities with restrooms, a changing room and the larger area for serving.
We enjoyed doing weddings at this location in the past, and hope to coordinate weddings at this Maui wedding location in the future. This particular setting, from our past experience, has no real place to do sunset photography. Because of the way Ma’alaea sets behind the West Maui Mountains, it is difficult to see the sunset from that location. We have had a glow in the horizon for some of our Maui weddings in the past, but you cannot see the sun as in sets here.
There is a beach not to far from this location where we have taken the couple to do romantic photographs towards sunset, but the mountain is still sitting between it and the setting sun. Ma’alaea in the way so that you can’t get great sunset shots.
The nicest thing about this property is that you can have a larger wedding party and know that you won’t be disrupted by people passing by. No one can walk by at the ocean’s edge (there is no beach) and so your privacy is assured.
